I am attempting to add a link to a document on my company's server. I have no problem doing this using the desktop version of Word but the online version of 365 keeps changing to hyperlink to be a website.

I want to hyperlink to go to: U:\UIM PROGRAM\CLE Templates\Child-Level_Event_Glossary_SIR.pdf or U:\UIM PROGRAM\CLE Templates\

but it keeps changing the hyperlink to: http://U:\UIM PROGRAM\CLE Templates\Child-Level_Event_Glossary_SIR.pdf

I cannot figure out how to tell it to not add the 'http://'.

    Dear Robert,

The local folder path isn't supported in Word for the web. It only supports some types of the links mentioned in Links in Word for the web - Microsoft Support.

As our product developers are willing to hear users' requirements, I suggest you submit your feedback and convey your suggestions to our new Feedback platform mentioned in the following article for the product developers to know your suggestions and opinions for product improvements.
