I've just spent 5 hours working on a PPT document and all chnages i've made have not been saved, despite Autosave being on, and manual saves being carried out prior to closing the document. I have tried everything to recover the document, but the latest version i could find, was saved version from last night, which was in the Recover Unsaved Documents file!! How can this have happened??????????

    Dear Simon,

I'm sorry to hear that you lost your PowerPoint work. For the situation you encountered, we do understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for it.

If you saved the PowerPoint document in OneDrive or SharePoint, you may go to OneDrive Online and SharePoint Online, find the document, right click it and check its Version History, see if you can find a version containing your work.

However, if it doesn't work, I recommend you report this issue to the related team who has higher permission to remotely assist you, they will help check the situation from your side and help you further look for work, they can also check your PowerPoint document from back end and look for other ways for recovering the document. This would be the most efficient way in handling this case for you.

So, I sincerely recommend that your Microsoft 365 admin, can follow the steps in this article and open/create a support ticket to contact online support.

If you're not an admin for your Office 365 organization, please contact the admin of creating a new ticket.
