Microsoft OneDrive Issues

I exceeded my OneDrive capacity, but I have since cleared my OneDrive. OneDrive is still showing that I'm over capacity and can't sync any files, despite only currently using 0.5 gb of the 5 gb allotted. I've looked for any files that are causing the capacity overflow, but everywhere I have looked there are no files that could be causing it. I've checked my Outlook storage, I've checked my OneDrive storage both on my device and online, and it's been almost a week since I exceeded my capacity and emptied it but I still have persistent errors. I've also restarted my device, clicked the "Free Up Space" option and have reorganized my OneDrive, all in vain.

    Hi _Athena_,

Thank you for reaching out. My name is Leo, a user just like you. I'd be happy to help you with your concern.

May I know if you are using a OneDrive personal or corporate account? May I also know what changes you have made that might be causing the issue? What error code or message that is showing when you try to sync your files? For this issue, I recommend resetting your OneDrive. You won't lose any data by resetting OneDrive. Follow the steps below:

    1. Press the Windows key and R to open the Run dialog box, enter wsreset.exe, then select OK.
    2. A blank Command Prompt window will open, and after about ten seconds the window will close. You can close the Microsoft Store window.
    3. If OneDrive is still not syncing, press the Windows key and R again.
    4. Copy this and paste it into the dialog window, then press OK. %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset

If you see a "Windows cannot find..." message, copy and paste this instead, then press OK. C:\Program Files\Microsoft OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset

If you see a "Windows cannot find..." message, copy and paste this instead, then press OK. C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset

    1. Manually restart OneDrive by going to Start, type OneDrive in the search box, and then click on the OneDrive desktop app. Then sign in your account and check if it will sync.

    Best Regards,

    Leo
