I booted my PC up today and my Office apps will not load.

I get this error (0xx0000142)

WHY?!?!?!?

Please see if an Office repair helps:

Right-click Start > Apps and features.

Locate Microsoft Office in the list of installed programs.

Right-click on Microsoft Office and select Change.

In the window that opens, you’ll have two repair options: Quick Repair, which fixes most issues using files already on your device.

Online Repair, which is more comprehensive and requires an internet connection as it redownloads the installation files.

Select the repair option you prefer and click Repair. Follow any additional on-screen instructions.
