No matter what I have tried (I used to be able to do this with earlier versions of excel without a problem), I cannot copy an exact range of labels and boxes from one tab into another because there is no way to copy row heights.

Thank you, Alex Dymerets

    Hello AlexDymerets,

I'm Shalom and I'd happily help you with your question. In this forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

In Microsoft Excel, you can copy row heights using the following steps:

    • Select the Row(s): Click on the row number(s) of the row(s) whose height you want to copy.
    • Copy the Row Height: Right-click on any selected row number, and then click on "Copy" from the context menu.
    • Paste the Row Height: Now, select the row(s) where you want to apply the copied row height. Right-click on any selected row number, and then click on "Row Height" from the context menu. In the "Row Height" dialog box, paste the copied row height value and click "OK".

Alternatively, you can manually adjust the row height of the destination rows to match the source rows by dragging the boundary line between the row numbers in the row header area.

    Best Regards, Shalom

Hi Alex. I am an Excel user like you.

Follow this procedure to copy all row heights and other formatting for a section of the sheet from one sheet to another. Note that this will copy all formatting that is in the selected rows.

    1. Select the rows that you want to copy the row height and formatting.
    2. Select Copy.
    3. Select the cell where you want the copied formats to begin. (Probably the same corresponding cell where you started the copy from.)
    4. In the Paste dropdown on the Home ribbon, select Other Paste Options>Formatting.

First, copy the entire rows that contain your range.

Paste the rows, and the row heights will be pasted as well.

Then delete the columns you don't want, or erase the cells you don't want.

The [Delete] key will erase the contents but keep the formatting. Some formatting is visible even if the cell is empty, such as borders or background.

An easy way to erase content and formatting is to use Format Painter to copy from an unformatted cell.

For people who find this post because they want to copy only the height of one row, but no other formatting or content:

Right click the row number of a row that is the height you want.

Click [Row Height...], then Ctrl-C and [Cancel].

Right-click the row whose height will be changed.

(If you want to change the height of more than one row, select them first.)

Click [Row Height,,,], then Ctrl-V and [OK].
