SharePoint editing issue

Question

I am trying to edit a SharePoint page. The page shows as "editing a page" within Sharepoint. When I click the down arrow beside "Edit" it states that it's locked by an old employee that no longer works for the company. I am the owner of the site and still can't remove them. How can I clear that page editing lock? Thank you

As per your description, I understand the page is locked.  You can go to the "Site Pages" library and see if the problematic page show (mark arrow) and "check in" the page edited by another user as the site owner.
