My experience is the same. So we see the usual Microsoft response, which is to offer a variety of fatuous and useless suggestions, knowing that none of them will work. This is clearly a Microsoft-generated problem. We need them to sort it out. Get on with it, Microsoft!

    Solved!

This problem suddenly happened to me on a Windows 11 work computer that was logged in to both my company OneDrive and my personal OneDrive. Everything was working properly for months and then suddenly the personal OneDrive started saying that I needed to sign in. The company OneDrive was fine.

Every time I tried to sign in to the personal account as prompted, a few windows would quickly pop open and "blink" a few times before disappearing. The error message would appear again.

I tried deleting all credentials, uninstalling OneDrive, resetting OneDrive, deleting cached OneDrive files/folders, and nothing worked. I spent 2 days working on this problem with no success.

After reading somewhere about making sure TLS settings in the Internet Options Control panel under Advanced tab were enabled (all versions were enabled on my machine - 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3), I decided to try DISABLING the settings one-by-one to see if it made a difference.

ON THE FIRST TRY -- DISABLING "USE TLS 1.3" in the advanced tab of the internet options control panel -- my personal OneDrive connected and synced my files!

I hope Microsoft figures out why this problem suddenly started happening and that others find this helpful.

    Hi mohamed,

Thanks for writing us here in Microsoft Community.

It appears like you're getting error with OneDrive. There are several reasons why this error might occur, including network connectivity issues, outdated software, or corrupted files.

I'd like to ask few questions to better understand your concern.

    1. When did you get this error? Is it when signing in to OneDrive app, web, or is it when installing OneDrive?
    2. Have you tried using a different network to see if the issue persists?
    3. Have you tried reinstalling OneDrive as well to see if that will help?
    4. Are you using any VPN, or 3rd party antivirus software that could have block OneDrive from connecting to the cloud server?

Based on your initial description, here are some steps you can try in your end.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing an error code (0x8004de44). This error code is related to OneDrive and usually occurs when there is an issue with syncing files. Here are a few steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:

1**. Check your internet connection:** Make sure you have a stable internet connection and that you're not experiencing any connectivity issues. You can also try using a different network to help isolate the issue.

    2. Restart OneDrive: Close OneDrive and then reopen it. This can sometimes resolve syncing issues.

    3. Check for updates: Make sure you have the latest version of OneDrive installed. You can check for updates by going to the Microsoft Store or by visiting the OneDrive website.

    4. Clear the OneDrive cache: Clearing the OneDrive cache can sometimes resolve syncing issues. To do this, right-click on the OneDrive icon in the system tray and select "Settings". Then, go to the "Account" tab and click on "Unlink this PC". After that, sign in again and see if the issue is resolved.

    5. Reset OneDrive by pressing WIN+R to bring up Run, typing %localappdata%\\MicrosoftOneDriveonedrive.exe /reset, and pressing ENTER.

    6. Check the OneDrive server status to ensure that it is not down. You can visit https://portal.office.com/servicestatus and check if it's all showing green check mark.

    7. Uninstall OneDrive. If you have an existing OneDrive app or a different version of OneDrive installed, you may need to uninstall it first, restart your computer, and then reinstall it. Here are the steps:

    1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run window.
    2. and click OK. appwiz.cpl
    3. Find Microsoft OneDrive in the list and right-click to remove it.
    4. If this method fails, follow these steps:
    5. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run window.
    6. and click OK. regedit
    7. Paste this path into the navigation bar at the top of Registry Editor. Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\OneDrive
    8. Right-click the OneDrive folder and select Delete.

After that, you can restart your computer and follow these steps:

    8. Update OneDrive: You can download the latest version to update OneDrive and install it using the link below.

    1. OneDrive Download the latest version of OneDrive
    2. Click to Press the Windows key open the Start menu, search for OneDrive, and then open the OneDrive desktop app
    3. Once OneDrive setup begins, enter your Microsoft account email address, and then select Sign in to set up your account.
