Dear Steve

It seems that you previous encounter some Adobe add-ins issues when you use PowerPoint for Mac and the add-in is removed like what is mentioned in New Error: "Run-time error '53'" ... MacPDFM - Microsoft Community.

If yes, could you check whether there are some updates come from Adobe? If yes, could you upload the Adobe application like what is mentioned by Jim Gordon in the thread PowerPoint couldn't load the add-in - Microsoft Community, restart the Mac and do a test to see the result?

Does the issue occur suddenly? If yes, what did you do before the issue happened? Could you provide the reproducing steps of the issue for our reference?

Meanwhile, I'd like you to provide the version number of the PowerPoint for Mac application and the Mac operating system you are using for our confirmation.

Thank you for your effort and time.

Sincerely

Cliff | Microsoft Community Moderator

    Below are screenshots.

When I click "OK" on the error message it disappears and I can work in PPT. Sorry if I didn't explain that.

    Yes. Delete the adobe files.

There are some hidden files you must delete.

    **Delete "linkCreation.dotm"**from this folder:
     ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Startup/Word/

    DeleteSaveAsAdobePDF.ppam” from this folder:
     ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Startup/PowerPoint

    Delete “SaveAsAdobePDF.xlam.” from this folder:
     ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content/Startup/Excel/

    Dear Steve,

    Thanks for your updates.

Regarding "I don't have any Adobe apps anymore, so nothing to update. The only Adobe files I'm finding are in Document folders.", do you just see PDF files in the in Document folder? Could you upload some related screenshots for our reference?

Note: Remove any private information before uploading the screenshots.

About "Fact is, this error doesn't seem to cause any problems.", do you mean that you can pass the error to use the PowerPoint for Mac application fine?

Thank you for your effort and time.

    Sincerely

    Thanks Cliff,

This issue started a few weeks ago whenever I open PPT. I've used PPT for years with no issues. Fact is, this error doesn't seem to cause any problems. It's just curious.

I don't have any Adobe apps anymore, so nothing to update. The only Adobe files I'm finding are in Document folders. I'm guessing I can just delete those?

    Steve
