Master Project Excel Export in Microsoft Project

Hello,

Has anyone been able to figure out how to export an entire master project with multiple subprojects within it? Currently if I have 1 subproject in a master project all of the tasks are included in the export but as soon as I add an additional subproject, the master excel export only includes the summary tasks for the subprojects and I would like to have all of the tasks in the export.

Did some additional testing and resolved the issue, thankyou! Must have been something with the files I was using because when I created new blank test files it all worked as expected

    Hey John,

Another issue I wanted to ask about is the standard "ID" column that is included. When we are exporting a the master project, the tasks within each project restart at ID "1". Do you know if there is a way to continue the sequencing throughout all of the tasks across subprojects or somehow create another column that does this?

    Carter Wrobel,

First of all, what version of Project are you using? Second, how exactly are you "exporting" the structure?

When you export the master structure, are all subprojects fully expanded? If not, you will only get the summary line insertion points for un-expanded subprojects. Why? Because in a master/subproject structure, the subprojects are not part of the master, the master only contains pointers to each individual subproject so in order for subproject tasks to appear, each subproject must be fully expanded.

    John
