Old documents on computer.

I have lots of excel documents on my computer.

I find the one I want and I double click to open and receive message:

      C:\AAAAAAA\Vehicle\2011 Camaro\Vehicle Information.xlsx.

This action is only valid for products that are currently installed.

How do I convert to my 365 account that I pay for?

I don't want to open Excel and then find the document to open!

I want to find the document and open without additional steps!

Hi, I am Sumit, an Independent Advisor. Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

If those files are not synced to Onedrive, you need to repair office. Please see the steps for that here:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/repair-an-office-application-7821d4b6-7c1d-4205-aa0e-a6b40c5bb88b

When it is done, reboot and see if the issue resolves.

    Good luck!

Well as a start C:\AAAAA.......... is not a valid location

OneDrive is not a backup, it’s a cloud location of your data.

The default installation of Office 365 and its OneDrive component uploads all the contents of the PC  \My Documents\ folders to OneDrive, (syncs) and there will be a OneDrive folder in File Explorer containing cached copy of all the OneDrive content. And in Word etc the default Save location is set to OneDrive.

No Docs/data is stored on the local PC
