Hi,

I would like to report a possible bug. When in WEB LAYOUT mode, if I select VIEW > FOOTNOTES, neither the main body text, nor the footnotes are viewable, and I am left with a grey screen. This may not be a factor, but this only started happening when I upgraded to my new MacBook Pro, which has the Apple M3 Max chip.

Anyways, I'd be grateful if someone could follow up with me about this. Perhaps I'm missing something?

Please don't waste your time following the suggestions you've been given. Anyone sporting the MSFT badge should know that this is a known issue created by Sonoma.

It was first reported more than a month ago but as yet has not been resolved, It also occurs in Draft View & Outline View. There is no fix at the user level. It has to come from the development end.

You can add your voice to the choir by using Help> Feedback in the Word menu to submit yet another complaint to Microsoft. Sending a message to Apple may help as well. The louder the outcry the higher the priority.

BTW: The version of Sonoma you cited [14.1] is behind. Version 14.2.1 is current. It pays to keep that edition of the OS updated.
