Linked Excel Objects in Word Resize

I have seen and dealt with this issue for 10+ years and the QFE_Boston registry entry has always worked, until now. After copy - paste / link from Excel into word, the object is fine. But once saved and closed (both Excel and Word documents) the links are now stretched and distorted when opened. It doesn't matter which PC the documents are opened with, we get the same results.

My Office installation is up to date.

I believe I have resolved the problem. I ran a utility to remove excess styles from the Excel Workbook and the problem appears to be corrected.

    Dear Jim Williams6,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you

This doesn't seem to have happened in my tests:

I found that my version is not consistent with yours, so I would like to confirm if your update channel is the current channel.

What`s more, does this phenomenon occur in multiple files?

We look forward to your reply. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,
