Getting error message "The selected folder is not a valid OneNote notebook" when trying to upload one note folder

I exported a copy of my one note to open it up on a new computer. I have just unzipped the file and it's now showing as a document folder with subfolders of everything that was in the notebook. When I follow the OneNote Notebook Importer and try to import the folder I get an error message "The selected folder is not a valid OneNote notebook.". On the directions page in export / Import it says this error usually occurs when you're trying to upload the zipped file which I am not. I am uploading the whole folder which does seem strange since I was expecting a file type instead of a folder but this is what comes out of the zipped file. I no longer have access to the original notebook so I need to figure out a way to open from what I already have downloaded.

I downloaded the file from the online version of OneNote onto a windows computer. I am trying to import the file on a mac.

I did a search of the file name in the folder and I found a few documents with .onetoc2. When I tried to open the file from my computer it asked what application I wanted to open it with and OneNote was greyed out, not an option. When I searched for the file in the OneNote Notebook Importer it doesn't come up. It does show a lot of .one files but those are greyed out too, can't choose them.

It was created in a work account so I no longer have access to that account.

Since your notebook is already on OneDrive why don't you just open it on the new computer ?
