Audio driver needs update, security setting blocking, splash screen on startup.

Voice dictation stopped working: No audio device available. Worked fine before latest overall updates, get driver update messages, some security setting blocking. Have business account, M-365. Have new Samsung Book2. Using blue tooth add-on keyboard through Book2. Voice Rrecognition worked until recent changes. Suspect its all there, just not up to date and not coming alive along top line.

    Dear respected,

Good day! Welcome to Microsoft Community.

We went through your post carefully and we would like to confirm if you are referring to the Use voice recognition in Windows - Microsoft Support or Dictate in Microsoft 365 - Microsoft Support

If the voice dictation is also not working in non-Office apps, then we suggest you post a new thread under Windows category to get the professional support. For reference: "No audio device available" Lenovo laptop should have built in. - Microsoft Community

If only the Office apps can't run the dictate function, may I know what the exact behavior of the issue in Office apps is like if it shows any error message like Dictation can't hear you. For reference: If dictation in Office isn't working - Microsoft Support

Appreciate your understanding that sometimes the initial reply may not resolve the situation very soon. However, we can work together to narrow down and resolve the situation. Please kindly post back and provide the more information, then we can focus on your specific scenario and provide specific suggestions.

We'll be here for you if there have anything else we can do for you. I appreciate your time and effort on checking these above and thank you for your patience and cooperation. I hope that you are keeping safe and well!

    Sincerely,

    Mia | Microsoft Community Moderator
