Blank, duplicate lines.

Good afternoon,

In MS Project, upon adding new lines on the Team (Resources) Tab, the lines are doubled. The original lines stay has they should, but the extra lines are all blank and assigned with 0H work. Upon saving and closing, then going back into the file, the lines disappear and only the originals stay there. This is still bothersome.

I´ve tried re-installing and fixing Project, as well has disabling all suplements.

I believe it´s a single file, I´ll ask the creator if there are any sort of linked files in between.

We´re using the latest available version.

    Duarte Costa1,

How exactly are you assigning the resources?

Is this a single file or part of a linked structure (i.e. master/subprojects, resource pool/sharer files)?

Also, what version of Project are you using?

    Hello.

I did has you have asked, there are no "rogue" blanks. They are created the moment I assign a resource. No blanks whatsoever, except for the ones that are made.

    Duarte Costa1,

Your screen shot is showing the Resource Usage view. Apparently your file has several "rogue" blank tasks with resource assignments.

I suggest you go to the Gantt Chart view and add the Unique ID field next to the ID field. Then sort by the Unique ID field. I suspect you will see multiple blank tasks at the bottom. Delete those blank tasks and that should resolve the issue.

Sometimes an inadvertent click of the mouse in a view below the last task can create unintended blank tasks. I've done it myself more than once.

    Hope this helps.

    John
