Difficulty Switching Between Multiple M365 Business Accounts in Word/Excel/PowerPoint

I am writing to seek assistance with a challenge I am facing while trying to switch between two Microsoft 365 Business accounts in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

I am able to switch between accounts seamlessly in Outlook (Desktop), but unfortunately, I encounter difficulties doing the same in other Office applications. I have attached a screenshot to provide a visual representation of the issue.

Above is my Outlook, I can switch from ******@mycompany.com to ******@mycompany.com

Below is from Word/Excel/PowerPoint

if I try to click "Add an account" an error message will appear "Another account from your organization is already signed in on this device. Try again with a different account."

Why can I switch accounts in Outlook only, but others office apps cannot.

Hope to get an answer soon.

Thank you!

Dear JacksonTeo1,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft community. We are delighted to offer our assistance.

In general, we can sign in Office application with different business accounts and personal accounts with connected services from different accounts. However, it is not flexible to sign into different business accounts from the same Microsoft 365 tenant at the same time. This is expected behavior for Word/PowerPoint/Excel. You can log in to your less frequently used account on the web version and then use your most frequently used account in the desktop app. At the same time, accounts from the same tenant are allowed to sign in at the same time in Outlook applications.

We wish you good health and safety at all times.

Sincerely,
