Deleted notes

Question

On OneNote for Windows 10 if I right-click my notebook and then select 'view deleted notes' I see those which I have deleted. This is strange as when you delete a note it says it's permanent and can't be recovered.

Then it warns you:-

So why have I everything I've ever deleted on OneNote available when it says they will be permanently deleted in 60 days? I've notes which I deleted in 2014!!

I'd like to delete most of them, but as you can imagine there are quite a few pages to delete one at a time.

I found this after trying to remove unused Notebooks which appear and cannot be opened as it says they are deleted. This is probably the reason!

• Repair your OneNote file. To do this, open the OneNote app on your device and select File > Info > Open Backups. Locate the backup copy of your OneNote file and open it. Then, select File > Info > Settings > Properties. Under Default Location, copy the path of the backup file. Then, close the backup file and select File > Info > New. Paste the path of the backup file in the Folder name box and click Create. This will create a new OneNote file from the backup file. You can then rename the new file and save it to your OneDrive folder.

Hi,

Like most other things I've tried it doesn't work :(

1. I cannot open it..

2. In OneNote on the 'open' screen it appears on the list, but if I right-click and 'remove from list' it just reappears a few seconds later.
3. If I try to right-click then 'open file location' the OneDrive folder is empty of OneNote files.
