    Hi Datta,

Thank you for reaching out to this forum. I'm Utkarsh and as a fellow Microsoft user, I'm here and ready to help you today.

I am a user like you, this is a user forum and not Microsoft directly.

I understand your concern, as you have trouble with activating Microsoft Office

Product Key Matching Issue: If you encounter an error related to product key mismatch, you may need to uninstall the current product key and activate Office again with the correct key

The provided software key can be for Office Home and Student edition, which may lack some features needed for professional use.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

    1. Restart Office Application: Sometimes, simply closing and reopening the Office application can resolve temporary glitches or errors.
    2. Update Office: Make sure that your Microsoft Office suite is up to date. Sometimes, bugs and errors are fixed in newer updates.
    3. Repair Office Installation: Use the built-in repair tool provided by Microsoft Office to repair any potential issues with the installation files. This option is usually found in the Control Panel under "Programs and Features" (Windows) or via the Microsoft Office installer.
    4. Clear Credentials and Sign Out: Corrupted credentials can cause activation issues. Try clearing your browser cache and cookies. Sign out of your Microsoft account completely and then sign back in during setup.

Now try to activate Office and kindly let us know.

    I am NOT a Microsoft Agent/Employee.

I hope this is helpful! Best Regards, Utkarsh

Is this An Office version you purchased or a "free" version provided by the PC maker? If so uninstall the pre-instled O365 Family trial version
