When I try to use my integrated camera to record in Powerpoint, I get the following error message: "Your media recording device Integrated Camera is not set up correctly or already used by other apps. Please select another one or close all the apps using it."

  • Camera works fine in other apps
  • Camera works fine in Powerpoint when adding Cameo to slides, only doesn't work in record feature
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling powerpoint has not helped
  • Restarting and shutting down computer has not helped
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling camera driver has not helped
  • Attempting to use webcam results in same error message.
  • Restarting in safe mode has not helped.

    HI Kaitlyn,

Thank you for writing to us here in the Microsoft community.

I understand that you want to use the recording in PowerPoint to record in your PC. You've done multiple troubleshooting steps to resolve you issue. However, since camera is working fine. I would suggest in doing a Manual uninstall of your Microsoft 365. This would delete the office in your device by deleting the folders and subfolders. If you are confident in your technical skills, I would suggest it.

Here is the link for the step-by-step guide on how to Manual uninstall your Office: Manually uninstall Office - Microsoft Support

Note: Before you start, you need to know removing Office manually is a long, complex process and might require that you reinstall the operating system if certain steps are done incorrectly.
