Microsoft error causing apps to close

I keep getting the message that "Microsoft Outlook (and Word) have run into and error that is preventing it from working correctly. Outlook will need to be closed as a result. Would you like us to repair now?" I have clicked on "repair now" several times and nothing seems to be happening. I just get the same error message the next time I open a Microsoft App. How do I fix the problem??

    Hi Nicki R,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I am Blessing, an independent advisor here and a Microsoft user like you.

Sorry for this inconvenience. From my experience this error prompt happens in Office for Windows. Do you have Office on Windows?

If that is right, you can try the following troubleshooting steps below to help resolve this issue.

    1. Try opening it in safe mode, which disables add-ins and check if the problem continues.

    a) Right-click the Start button, and click Run.

    b) Type Outlook.exe /safe, and click OK.

    1. If the issue continues. Make sure you have installed the latest updates for Outlook by going to "File" > "Account" > "Update Options" > "Update Now".
    2. Try the Online Repair of Office applications by following the steps below for guidance:

    a) Right-click the Start button in Windows, and select Apps and Features on the pop-up menu.

    b) Select the Microsoft Office product you want to repair, and select Modify.

    c) In the window How would you like to repair your Office Programs, select Online Repair > Repair to make sure everything gets fixed.

    d) Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the repair. And restart your computer.
