Cut/Paste function suddenly not working. Copy/Paste enters wrong data.

Hello,

My cut/paste function suddenly quit working yesterday. It worked one minute and didn't the next. The information appears to be cut, but nothing happens when I paste it. This happens whether I use the right click method or the clipboard icon on the toolbar. The Ctrl X + V method works, but the Ctrl X + Ctrl + Shift+ V to paste values does not. The data goes into the destination cell, but then immediately disappears and reappears in the original cell as if the function was never done. Also, only the Paste function is available, the paste special, paste formula, paste value options are greyed out so I can't try any of those. I've signed out, restarted, tried different worksheets and the issue seems to be across the board.

Also, when using copy/paste, the values are different in the pasted version. The bottom is the pasted version of the top values. See below.

Anyone know how to correct this issue? I must also mention that it's only when I'm using Excel in Onedrive, if that makes a difference.

Based on the description you posted, you are having issues with the cut, copy and paste function in Excel Online.

We tried to test CNTRL + X to cut and CNTRL + SHIFT + V to paste value with formatting using excel online on different windows computer but the same issue happens. Also when we tried to cut the data the function paste special, formatting are also grayed out and will only be available with copy and paste. So this could possibly be a feature limitation or a new update with Excel online. I suggest to send a feedback on this link Excel · Community (microsoft.com) to Microsoft Developers so they can help us correct this issue.

The issue with copy and paste could be because of the formula or formatting added on the file you are working. Please try to create a new Excel workbook and test copy and paste to help you isolate the issue.

Same problem now with Excel online cut and paste. This has always worked cutting and pasting from one area on a spreadsheet to another area either on the same or different sheet. This is the case with either an entire row or a group of cells in a row that suddenly does not work. I can and paste a single cell regardless of the format and content of that cell but not any group of cells.

Using keystroke cut/paste works but mouse right click no longer works.

Same here. Able to insert blank lines. Unable to insert or paste more than one cell of cut or copied data.

Same here. Working with excel online, office 365, and cut/paste feature is not working no matter which way I try.
