Zooming onto presentation pauses all Audio and Gifs

I am having an issue on Windows 10, Powerpoint 2016, I have a presentation with multiple slides, and various audio files and gifs, all set to play automatically.

Just a few days ago, I was able to do a presentation , And I could perfectly zoom onto it using ctrl + mousewheel, by doing so, the audio I had in the background, as well as all gifs I had inserted would continue to play, but just earlier I tried doing the same, except this time both the audio and gifs pause, and only resume when I zoom out of the presentation. I need some help on a way I can get those gifs and audio to play again even if the fullscreen presentation is zoomed onto.

Note that the gifs and audio only get paused, they do not freeze, since when I zoom out, they continue to play on the exact moment they had paused while zoomed in. I have also confirmed this has affected all my powerpoint files, not only this specific slideshow.

I have already tried enabling/disabling hardware acceleration, restarted the program, cleaned temporary cache files, restarted and even doing a full shut down and turning the computer back on. Tried the different methods to present the slideshow (presenter view, browsed by individual, browsed in a kiosk) and none of this things seem to work.

I am not sure if it helps, but earlier I changed my device's color profile on windows advanced screen settings, but after some testing I quickly returned it back to the original one it had by default, as well as restarted and even shut down and turned back on my computer after doing so, this is the only thing I can think that could have messed up powerpoint, but I am unsure.

Regardless, if anyone has some information on how or if this can even be fixed, I would be real thankful.

    Hello Johnny_542

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are experiencing an issue with your PowerPoint presentation where the audio and gifs pause when you zoom in. I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.  Just to set your expectations, we have limited tools to check your account, subscription, and service details in the community.

    Let me ask you this:

    • I'd like to know what @domain and who hosts your email account. Example @domains: Gmail.com, Yahoo.com Outlook.com/Hotmail.com
      • Can I find out if the account is for work/school use or personal use (Hotmail/Outlook.com)?

Based on the information you have provided, it seems that you have already tried several troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue. However, I would like to suggest a few more steps that you can try:

    1. Check if your PowerPoint version is up to date. You can do this by going to File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
    2. Try disabling the "Use hardware graphics acceleration" option. You can do this by going to File > Options > Advanced > Display > Disable hardware graphics acceleration.
    3. Try running PowerPoint in Safe Mode. This will disable all add-ins and customizations, which may be causing the issue. You can do this by holding down the Ctrl key while launching PowerPoint.
    4. Try creating a new PowerPoint presentation and see if the issue persists. If it does not, then the issue may be with the original presentation file.

If none of these steps work, please let me know and we can explore other options.

    Regards,
