My Old Mac Book Pro opened files for MS office stored on Drop Box with no issue. I bought a new Mac Studio and installed MS Office. Word and Excel are the 2 apps I used frequently . I cannot open current versions of my files stored on Dropbox, It will open a version about a week old.

I am using Office 365 that I just upgraded to the family so I can used it on all 4 computers.

If I put a copy on the desktop, the file will open fine. I have 4 computers, 3 Macs and 1 windows machine I need to access the files from .

Thank You for the help

Denise Brumm

    Hi Denise

DropBox is supported for opening files using the WEB version of Microsoft Excel, not the desktop version.

If you want sharing features in Excel desktop use OneDrive or Sharepoint as the storage location.

DropBox supports mobile and Office WEB applications

    Thanks for your fast reply

When I try to open files from Drop Box I do not get any errors, it opens an older version of the file from 3/3/2024, the date I installed Office. It will not open the current version at all. There are no error screens to send

I am using Mac Sonoma 14.4 version on a Mac Studio computer.

I just got this new computer on March 3red, was setting it up and installed office and behavior started right away after install.

I uploaded a couple files to OneDrive and they did open correctly. I did Excel and Word and they both opened fine.
