Azure files not supporting images

Question

Hi

I have an application deployed in my azure VM. It show the files (text and images) kept in a directory folder.

First I kept the files in azure VMs local drive and pointed to this directory in my app. The app shows the texts and images.

Next, I kept the files in azure FileShare then mounted it to the VM. Similarly I pointed the FileShare location in my app. It shows the text but not images.

Now I am not understanding why my app is showing link broken for images but it shows the texts?

Also What is the difference between Azure files vs Azure VM with storage on VHD with respect to images?
