Because Tomcat 7 has reached the end of community support on 23 March 2021, applications hosted on App Service will continue to run, but they will not receive updates or security patches because they are no longer available. If you have a question, please post it in this thread.

To minimize risk and potential security vulnerabilities, upgrade your Web Apps to Tomcat 8.5 or 9 depending on your workload requirements.

To start, log in to Azure portal, navigate to the web app(s) go to Configuration > Settings > Stack Settings. You will see dropdowns for Tomcat versions. Select Tomcat 8.5 or 9.0.

You can also view other resources before you upgrade your Web Apps to Tomcat 8.5 or 9.

Just point for clarification, the URL link mentions needing to "transition-to-tomcat-85-or-90-by-29-july-2022"
    https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/updates/transition-to-tomcat-85-or-90-by-29-july-2022/

Does this mean after 7/29/2022 the Azure app services configured for Tomcat 7 will stop working or is it just that as mentioned in the article the App Service will continue to run, but they will not receive updates or security patches because they are no longer available?

If you can clarify, so we can take appropriate action. Thank you,
