Stylus pen eraser stopped working

Hi, I have Asus Zenbook Flip and Asus Pen 2.0.
For the past couple of days, I've been wrecking my head trying to figure out why my stylus pen eraser button stopped working on OneNote when it's working for any other software (such as gInk).

I checked the OneNote settings and tried to turn off/on some of the options with no luck, I read a few threads here with similar issues, and I tried to clear the cache, but no luck either.

It's important to mention that it used to work perfectly fine, and stopped working suddenly.

Any ideas? Thank you.

After hours of research and trying to figure out how to fix it, I finally managed to!

Here is how I did it...

    Reinstall OneNote

In my case, OneNote wasn't in the "Add or remove programs" or in the control panel.

I managed to delete it with Office Deployment Tool(ODT) and Office Customization Tool, it's pretty straightforward, unzip the ODT, download an XML file according to your needs from the customization tool, and drag it onto the setup.exe file, from there its automatic.

    Recheck Pen Settings

Go to File > Options > Advanced > Pen.

In my case, I turned off everything, relaunched OneNote, turned on everything again, and relaunched OneNote.

    That's solved my issue.

    Hello! EviatarMor

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community

I understand that you're having trouble with your stylus pen eraser button on OneNote. Just to set proper expectation that we can only support the OneNote application if the issue is within the hardware you may need to contact the manufacturer of the device. However, allow me to ask:

    • Is this working in another device? or application?
    • Is there any error message showing up?
    • Have you tried updating the device driver or the Windows for updates?
    • Can I know what version and edition of Office installed in your computer?
      • You can open any Office apps
      • Go to File > Accounts - on the right side you can see Product Information

Here are a few things you can try:

    1. Make sure that your pen is paired with your device and that the battery is charged.
    2. Check if there are any updates available for OneNote and your device's drivers.
    3. Try resetting the OneNote app by going to Settings > Apps > OneNote > Advanced options > Reset.
    4. If none of the above steps work, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling OneNote.
    5. You can check the Windows update for updates by going to Settings > Windows update > Check for updates.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

    I hope this helps!

Hey Vince, Thank you for your response.

    • Yes, It's working for my friend's laptop and another application.
    • No, I don't have any error messages.
    • Yes, I tried to update my ASUS Pen from the device manager, and it says everything is up to date.
    • Do you mean this? "Microsoft® OneNote® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2311 Build 16.0.17029.20028) 64-bit".

    Regarding this:

    1. My pen is paired and fully charged.
    2. OneNote and my pen's drivers are up to date.
    3. This one is really weird, I can launch OneNote, but it doesn't show that it is installed in Apps.
    4. I wanted to reinstall OneNote, and I can't even see it on my "Add or remove programs".
    5. My Windows is also up to date.
