Renewed Developer Subscription

I just started a developer subscription within the last few months was was using it from time to time, but slowly. My role at work will need it more soon.

But tonight I get an email stating:

Warning: Your Microsoft 365 trial developer subscription expired on 2/9/2024 (UTC) due to lack of development activity.

  • Subscription ID: blahblahblah.onmicrosoft.com

Your administrator access, your subscription, and all your data will be deleted on 4/9/2024 (UTC).

You can return to your dashboard sixty (60) days after the deletion date and request a new Microsoft 365 trial developer subscription.

Thank you for your membership in the Microsoft 365 Developer Program.

So - it's deleted. But I can still access it for two months. Then I need to be prepared to be unable to use it for two months?

This is RIDICULOUS. Give people some time to ramp up before you go shutting them down.

Is there a way to get this renewed?

    Hello Bill,

I’m an Independent Advisor and Microsoft user like you. Thanks for posting the query here at this forum.

Your developer account subscription is maintained based on valid developer activity. If you're using your subscription for development, it will be renewed regularly. Microsoft use a set of algorithms and telemetry that received from your activity in the Microsoft 365 Developer Program and on your Microsoft 365 E5 developer subscription to determine whether you are actively developing.

The easy way that you can extend your subscription is to do valid developer activity. If you're using your subscription to develop custom solutions, your subscription will expire and will eventually be deleted. You have 30 days after your subscription expires to migrate any data. For the next 30 days, only the admin will have access to the subscription, and on day 60, the subscription and all data will be deleted.

    Below is the response received.

f you don't have a Visual Studio Subscription and are only joining for free, please note that as per the recent announcement on this Microsoft 365 Developer Program - Microsoft 365 Developer Blog, registration for the M365 DEV Subscription is currently closed. This affects customers without a PAID & Active VSS. Any updates regarding when this will resume or when this feature will become available again will be announced on the above-mentioned blog.

    Hello Ravikumar,

Please is the Microsoft Developer Program still running? I have tried getting into the program but the reply was that I was not qualified for the program, I later read somewhere that Microsoft had discontinued it, and that if one doesn't get a paid subscription by Apr 1 2024, they will be disconnected from using the packages.

    How true is this please

    Regards,

    Uc
