I am not sure if the original poster has the issue resolved, but this exact same issue occurred for me today as well and it is not resolved. I would be happy to replicate if needed. I also tried to execute the suggested fix, but got the same outcome as the original poster as well.

Is this working for you now? Very odd that i got a problem ticket from someone else with the same exact error with powerpivot in excel on the same day you posted this. Person couldn't replicate the issue today when i spoke with him, so i'm assuming if you're magically working now as well, then something happened on the O365 side to break Power Pivot.

    Cheers,

    Mario

Thanks for your reply, but as you can see from the attached picture "Type ThisWorkbook.CustomXMLParts(1). Delete and press Enter." doesn't work

Greetings! I am Ajibola, and I am eager to assist you with confidence and assertiveness. I guarantee to provide you with exceptional support.

This error may occur if you have a corrupted or incompatible CustomXMLParts file in your workbook. This file contains some metadata and settings for PowerPivot, such as the Sandbox Table Count. To fix this problem, you can try one of the following solutions:

    • Delete the CustomXMLParts file from your workbook by following these steps:

    • Open your workbook in Excel and press Alt+F11 to open the Visual Basic Editor.

    • Press Ctrl+G to open the Immediate window.

    • Type ThisWorkbook.CustomXMLParts(1). Delete and press Enter.

    • Save and close your workbook.

    • Repair your workbook by following these steps:

    • Open Excel and go to File > Open.

    • Browse to the location of your workbook and select it.

    • Click the arrow next to the Open button and select Open and Repair.

    • Choose Repair to recover as much data as possible
