Microsoft windows ask for using Hello pincode (for the first time) but won't work and back to the login screen again

Hello,

I tried to login as normally on my other laptop with password. After that I passed the verification with a message to my phone. Then suddenly for the first time I have to create a pincode. No other option than that. Byclicking next it says that the pincode can not be created. Then I can try again or skip, but with both options I am returned to my login screen again.

Restarting the laptop doesn't work and no updates seems available.

What can we do to login?

    Hello Hubert,

Thank you for reaching out to this forum. As a fellow Microsoft user, I'm here and ready to help you out today.

Could you please let us know what option are you seeing when you select "Sign-in options" on your login screen?

You should be able to switch between password or pin or finger print selection? Have you set the pin already and the issue is when logging in?

Could you please try to switch to your account password and try logging in? If there are any issue, try to select "I forgot the pin" and try to change the password or PIN accordingly.

Once you're able to login, you can disable the PIN option from authentication.

To access your sign-in options, go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
