OneNote Inking delay

Having an issue with all versions of the OneNote App whereby inking is delayed, i.e. when you write on the screen the writing doesn't appear immediately. These delays increase exponentially until the App crashes and has to be stopped through Task Manager. It affects OneNote and OneNote for Windows 10. The issue does not occur in other Ink aware Apps and inking onto OneNote Notebooks via Teams and Edge is fine. We are using HP Probook devices in conjunction with their Active Pen. The OneNote App is up to date as are all device drivers on the laptops. We are running the latest RC build of Windows 11. It is happening across many devices - at least 50.

    Dear Divine Ud,

Greetings! Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I'm sorry that you're having OneNote Inking delay problem and for the situation you've encountered, we deeply understand the inconvenience caused and apologize for that.

According to your description, same issue happens in different version of OneNote App on many devices. I'm afraid this issue needs to investigate from the backend side via remote section and collect logs.

As this Forum community has limited resources, the backend support team there has more permission than us, they have more resources to investigate the issue from the backend, they have Escalate channel to escalate your issue to check more and collect log reports for the root cause.

In this situation, we sincerely recommend that your Microsoft 365 admin, can follow the steps in this article and create a support ticket to contact Microsoft online support. The support team there has more permission than us, they can help you remotely and collect logs. This would be the most efficient way to handle this case for you.

Note: To create a support ticket, you need to have Microsoft 365 admin privileges, and if you're not an admin for your Office 365 organization, contact the admin of creating a new ticket.
