Hello guys,
we have setup of the NIC teams on our cluster servers (WS2019). One NIC team is for Heartbeat, one NIC team is for Management and the last NIC team is for VMs.
Do I need to setup static IP address on Heartbeat NIC team or should I leave it with "Obtain an IP address automatically"? If I do not set it up Heartbeat will automatically get an IP address from 169.254.x.x. Also VM NIC team will get this 169.254.x.x. IP address - VM NIC team is used for VMs.

This may depend on how each organization do things, in general it is recommended to use static IP addresses for servers, whether it's Heartbeat or not.

yes, we have static IP configured for servers, but I'm reading that for Heartbeat there is no need to set it up static. It will get some IP from 169.254.x.x.

Yes as I said, this is entirely dependent on each organization how they do things, you can leave it as is, or configure a dedicated IP segment with a dedicated IP address.
Easiest is of course to leave the default.
