You can download the installer version 16.84 from this page: Update history for Office for Mac as well(you can only install Excel package with the same version as well).

Summary:

First, you'd need to delete the installed yesterday version via go to the Applications folder In Finder and drag Microsoft Excel.app to the trash. Then Restart your Mac Download Excel version 16.84 from this link: Excel. Then, restart your Mac and test.

    Hello Wasqas,

I see that 16.85 is still being pushed on MAC. Can you please make sure that this issue is being addressed. I am happy to supply an Excel sheet that crashes on opening on 16.85 and runs out of resources on 16.86. And works perfect on 16.84.

    Kind Regards

    Jacob

    Hi David,

You can revert to the previous build using Time Machine. The file you should restore is Microsoft Excel.app in the Applications folder.

Learn how to use Time Machine to restore specific files

AutoUpdate might try to put you back up to 16.85, so you might set it to manual refresh until next month.
