Kanban board not showing test case annotations when tests created in Test Plans

We have the test case annotation checked for the board, our tests are created in the Test Plan area with only one assigned configuration, yet they will not show on the card unless we add a test case from the card itself then it will show all test cases as annotations.... however, even then it will not show the '0/2 passed' like the task annotation will. please help, i'd like to be able to see the annotation without having to add from the card and the '0/2 passed' as well. i know it can happen as i've seen it in another company previously, i didn't not set that azure up so i'm unsure of what is different in my current project (forgive my wording if it is not technical enough. I'm a PM trying to research and learn.)
