Insert rows/columns stops functioning randomly without any error message, only fix is to restart Excel.

Been working with similar processes/spreadsheets for years and only in recent months have started to run into this bug. I use mainly offline workbooks, but this has occasionally happened to online (sharepoint) workbooks as well.

Seemingly out of the blue, when I go to insert cells it just stops working. There is no error message or pause/runtime issue, it just does nothing, but acts as if action was completed successfully. It's not a graphical error and seems to happen on large and small workbooks equally. Only fix so far seems to be closing out of Excel and reopening the file. Reopened file does not have any of the inserted rows, so it's not a graphical issue either.

What makes me nervous is that very rarely, formulas with references that would've been manipulated by a row/col being inserted will randomly change to reflect if a row WAS inserted when there wasn't. For example, when this error started occurring in my spreadsheet, I got frustrated and kept trying to add rows even though it wasn't working, then after one attempt, some of my formulas changed even though no row was inserted. Since the row was never inserted, I wasn't able to edit/undo. When researching what changed, I found 4-5 cells in only one column had their reference moved down one row, while others remained the correct original reference. It was seemingly random 2 were close to where the row was attempted to be inserted, another was 300 lines below in the middle of a chain of filled cells.

While irritating, restarting does fix this, but now that there is a chance to randomly change a formula without being able to undo, it has me really nervous. Hope someone has a suggestion to fix. Thank you!

What's your office version? There was a bug on Version 2405 (Build 17628.20144) which has been fixed on Version 2405 (Build 17628.20164)

Ah, I updated my computer, but didn't think to update excel specifically. Looks like it didn't get updated with the rest. I'd imagine this fixed it, thank you so much!
