Problem with folder syncing

Hi:

I am having trouble syncing a folder on ONEDRIVE that someone has shared with me. I can see the folder without issue online in the "shared" tab, but in the "shared" tab there is only an option to "add shortcut to my files". Adding this shortcut creates a shortcut in "my files", but still the folder is not synced to my internet explorer on my PC. There is no "sync" button found on the top ribbon, or in the "gear" icon.

I have tried sharing a different folder with the other user, to see if she has the same issue, and indeed she also does not have a sync option.

This issue first started last week after I had to unlink and relink my onedrive account on my PC as it had stopped syncing (a file i saved from my PC would not show up as updated on her PC). We had waited several days to see if the problem would resolve itself, but after it did not I unlink/relinked.

Please help!

J

    Dear J

Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community.

We understand that you are experiencing issues with shared folder synchronisation when using OneDrive. Firstly, let me explain to you that we do currently receive feedback from users from different language sections who are experiencing issues similar to yours.

Based on your description, you are experiencing difficulties when trying to synchronise shared folders. This may be due to a general issue that we are dealing with. We have fed back this issue to the Microsoft development team and they are actively working on a solution. Please be patient for a while and we expect the issue to be resolved soon.

To further help you with your problem, I suggest you try the following steps:

    1. Reset the desktop version of OneDriveReset OneDrive - Microsoft Support
    2. Check file permissions: Please log in to the web version of OneDrive and check whether the shared file that is experiencing sync issues has "shared" or "private" permissions settings.

If your problem is not resolved after trying these steps, or if you need further assistance, please share with me the result of your operation and more detailed information, and please feel free to contact us. We will do our best to support you to ensure your experience is as smooth as possible.
