Will Microsoft ever provide the same features for iPad users that have been available for MacOs and other devices for awhile now?

Anytime I search for anything involving Microsoft Word (ex: opening new documents already formatted to my customized preference settings) I’m often finding the same, similar, or related questions asked by many others, yet the answers always state it’s not available for iPads. You’d think updating features for iPad users would cover a large market as many iPad users have an iPad to begin with was for college, school, or work reasons and iPad’s are more accessible and attainable than MacBooks for most. The entire reason I even own an iPad is for college and all of my online courses requires us to use Microsoft Word (Microsoft360 is pushed for us college students a lot) and it would be nice to have app the same across of devices whether it’s on laptops, android devices, or iOS devices. Is there a reason why iPads are left behind regarding this or why it hasn’t happened after all this time? I’m genuinely curious at this point since it’s been the same for years now that I’ve own an iPad.

It is the capabilities, or lack thereof, of the iPad itself that impose the limit on the features of Word on that platform. Even on the MacBook, unless running Office and Word under Parallels, the available features are not the equivalent of those on the Office Desktop application running under Windows.
