What is the safeelete.db of OneDrive?

When does the data build up? I would like to know about placeholder_delets_info and invalidated_delets_displayed_in_ux

    Hello,zidnd

    Welcome to the Microsoft community!

I have realized that you want to know about OneDrive database.

I would like to confirm whether the safeelete.db you mentioned is safe delete.db ?

The safeelete.db is a database file used by Microsoft OneDrive to manage deleted files. Here’s what you need to know:

    Placeholder_delets_info:

Placeholder files represent items in your OneDrive that haven’t been fully downloaded to your local device.

The placeholder_delets_info likely contains information about deleted placeholder files.

When you delete a placeholder file, it’s marked as deleted in the safeelete.db, but the actual file content remains in the cloud until you permanently delete it.

    Invalidated_delets_displayed_in_ux:

This refers to how OneDrive handles invalidated deletions (deletions that occur while offline or during sync issues).

When you’re online, OneDrive syncs and reconciles these invalidated deletions.

The safeelete.db helps manage this process, ensuring consistency between local and cloud storage.

Remember, if you encounter sync issues, consider resetting OneDrive to resolve them without data loss

Feel free to post back if you need further assistance.

Thank you for your understanding and patience and I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for telling me! Do you mind if I ask another question? Then, I am curious about how other tables contain data.
