Set proofing Language does not open

When working with OneNote using Review > Language > Set Proofing Language does not open a window. Sometime the window at the right is extended and a scrollbar on the right appears but the screen itself does not contain the language windows.

I am using Windows 11 with 3 screens (Internal Laptop (1920 x 1080) with two external monitos of different resolution 2560 x 1440 and 1920 x 1080).

Repairing the office installation does not help.

Any help is appreciated

    Dear Oliver Goehre,

Good day. Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.

As per your description, OneNote can't pop up the “Set proofing Language” window, and even if it does, it doesn't display properly. And repair the Office doesn’t work either.

If I understand correctly, to further troubleshooting the issue, please create a new profile on Windows, and check if you have the same issue. More details please refer to: Manage user accounts in Windows - Microsoft Support. If you meet the same issue, I guess that it may be related with the access policy between the different screens.

If not, please try to reinstall OneNote and check if you have the same issue. For your reference: Download and install or reinstall Microsoft 365 or Office 2021 on a PC or Mac - Microsoft Support

If I misunderstand you, or above can’t work for you either, could you tell me following information?

    1. May I know do you meet the same issue on other notebooks? Do your colleagues have the same issue?
    2. Could you tell me which version of the OneNote you use? Please select File > Account and capture the screenshot of the Product Information.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

    Sincerely,

    Claire | Microsoft Community Moderator
