Note container textbox formatting / resizing issues

Issue 1. One page in my onenote book is experiencing formatting issues with its container text boxes. When attempting to resize the box by clicking & holding the border the border shifts left, out of screen view, without even my moving the mouse. If I move & release the mouse to resize, the border goes back to its original location.

Issue 2. On the same page, I have another text box that is experiencing formatting issues whereby the text seems to wrap prematurely even though the border width provides ample spacing for the words to continue on the same line without having to break level to the next line below. I have tried to copy and paste to a new page but the box carries the formatting with it to the new page.

Not sure why these are issues under just one page and I still have no idea how to fix after researching. Does anyone know how to adjust the borders of the text box containers and the formatting of the text inside?

    Dear JStak,

Thank you very much for your reply. I had previously tested using the OneNote client and therefore was unable to reproduce your issue.

We tested again in more detail and found that in OneNote.com, although not always, this strange issue on the borders does occur sometimes.

The border feature cannot be used as well as the OneNote client. “text seems to wrap prematurely ” is also one of them.

Since the OneNote web side is based on a different platform than the client side, there may be a difference in functionality.

While we as community support staff may not be able to effectively advise you on these design shortcomings, I recommend that you organize these symptoms and submit feedback to Microsoft. This may allow these issues to be fixed in a future update.

Here is the feedback linkwhere you can submit feedback on this design by clicking Send Feedback in the top right corner, and once you've done that, you can send a link to a poll here so that other users with similar issues (including me) can vote on this new feature. The more votes will make it easier for the development team to focus on this issue.

Thanks again for your feedback, it means a lot to Microsoft and to users like you. User feedback is what drives us to improve our products.

    Sincere greetings,

Ian.L, thank you for your reply. Please see my below response to your troubleshooting tips.

    1. I think you could try logging into OneNote for web and see if you encounter the same issue on the same page of notes. This will help troubleshoot if the current note format is causing the problem or if it's the OneNote app.

The web version is the platform which is presenting me these issues. The app does not present the issue however after making changes in the app version, the web/browser version does not reflect these particular changes.

    1. Try creating a new page of notes and copying the page that is having the problem to the new page. See if you encounter the same problem.

I have tried this already as indicated in my initial post (issue 2); The same problem still occurs.

    1. As there are different versions of OneNote on Windows. You can also share with us your version of OneNote, whether you are using OneNote or OneNote for Windows 10. The most obvious way to tell the difference is to see if there is a “File” option on the ribbon. If not, you are using OneNote for Windows 10.

I am using OneNote on Windows 11. There is a "File" button in the ribbon on both browser & app.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Dear JStak14,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Thank you for your detailed description. This may indeed be a relatively rare issue. I immediately tested on OneNote for Microsoft 365, but did not encounter the same issue.

I think you could try logging into OneNote for web and see if you encounter the same issue on the same page of notes. This will help troubleshoot if the current note format is causing the problem or if it's the OneNote app.

Try creating a new page of notes and copying the page that is having the problem to the new page. See if you encounter the same problem.

We look forward to your sharing the results with us.
