This feels like a video driver problem.

Please try running PowerPoint in Safe Mode ... hold down CTRL key while starting PowerPoint. When you get a message asking if you want to start in Safe Mode, click Yes.

Then see if the problem occurs again. If it doesn't, that's a good sign that there's a video driver problem. You might then want to check with the computer manufacturer to see if there's an updated driver.

    Hi MO JA1,
Thanks for your post in Microsoft Community.

I tested in Microsoft 365 Version 2406 Build 17726.20126 and was unable to replicate your issue.

Here are some factors that could potentially cause the problem, or troubleshooting steps I can think of:

    1. Could you please tell me what version of Office you are using? (You can check this by clicking File, then Account.) This would greatly assist us in determining whether the issue might be related to an Office update.
    2. Have you synced the desktop image (the one you are inserting) to OneDrive?
    3. Did you insert the image by directly copying and pasting it, or did you use the Picture button under the Insert tab?
    4. Would you encounter the same issue if you inserted the same image in PowerPoint Online?
    5. Can the full image be displayed in Print Preview?
    6. When you say going to the next slide and then come back, do you mean in edit mode or presentation mode?

I look forward to your reply!

    Best Regards,
