Microsoft Lists form creator not allowing a lookup column to be added as a field.

Hi,

I have a Customer Contacts Microsoft List, which has a lookup column that connects to a Products list. This works fine when filling out the entries manually, but I want to include this field when creating a MS List Form. However, the form creator does not list the lookup column in the "Show or hide fields" list. Does anyone know why or how I can fix this?

Thanks,

Dan

I have wasted half my afternoon on this limitation where lookup fields on a SharePoint list are not available on the Microsoft Lists form designer in SharePoint. Very disappointing that this feature is not supported. This is a standard part of SharePoint development. We seem to have gone backwards while trying to go forwards. At least make this part of the official documentation so that it does not take an hour of web searching to find out that this lack of functionality is by design.

I'm having the same problem: my lookup columns are not showing up in the Forms creator. Please see attached screen shots.

Please advise when this will be fixed or functionality will be added so we can decide if we should continue using MS Forms or find an alternative solution.

The screen shot above shows column heading: School name. This is a lookup column and you can see that it doesn't display on there form creator screen where you can select which columns you want to add to your form.

    Hi George,

allow me to answer since I have the exact same problem.

    1. We are not refering to the built-in list form when clicking "Add new item", but to the new "Forms" feature, where you can create a custom input form for your MS List.
    2. Unfortunately there is an ussue uploading screenshots here, but when you open the new "Forms" builder from the MS List, you get all the columns / field available to put on the Form. Unfortunately Columns of the type "Look Up" do not show up...

I hope there is a solution to this.

    Best,

    Richard

George, sorry for my belated response. Richard-RE is correct: I am referring to the new form creator in MS Lists. I've attached the photos below, but I will just quote Richard-RE directly: "when you open the new "Forms" builder from the MS List, you get all the columns / field available to put on the Form. Unfortunately Columns of the type "Look Up" do not show up"

Is there a solution for this?

    Thanks,

    Dan
