Sharepoint files in Documents folder - sorting in non-default order does not work

I have this problem: in SharePoint folder I want to sort files by name in descending order Z-A, while A_Z is the default. I followed instructions to setup a view a define Name in Z-A order ( descending), I click OK to save the view. When I come back, the files are displayed as originally, sorted by name in A-Z default order.

Could the problem have anything to do with the fact that the folder is nested several levels?

Appreciate your help! -- Anna

    Dear Anna,

Thank you for posting your query in our community.

Please don't worry, let's work through your concern together and move towards a path to resolution.

I understand your concern and would like to convey if you didn’t sent the current view as he default view when you return to the page previous default View will be executed.

    • Please make your Z to A view default view.

Please crate a view by going to library settings >> more library settings >> scroll down >> crate a view standard view >> select Show items in descending order (C, B, A, or 3, 2, 1) >> please remember to select Make this the default view (Applies to public views only)>> click ok.

Appreciate your patience and understanding. Have a great day!

    Yours sincerely,

    Sophia
