Unblocking Macro-Enabled Worksheets

Excel is currently blocking me from using macros that are on shared files.

We use shared folders on OneDrive, and many of them are Macro-Enabled Excel worksheets. When I open these files, I am getting the red banner at the top of the file saying: "SECURITY RISK Microsoft has blocked macros from running because the source of this file is untrusted."

I've tried multiple solutions. The files do not have the Mark of the Web, I've added the OneDrive URL to Trusted Sites under Internet Properties, and I've Enabled VBA macros under Macro Settings in the Trust Center.

I am using a desktop version of Microsoft Excel, with an active Office365 subscription. The shared folders are in my file explorer and refresh automatically. I do not open them directly from the OneDrive website.

Any suggestions here would be greatly appreciated. I really need to be able to use the Macro-Enabled Worksheets again.

    Hello, Logan_TT

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Community.

Based on your description, you are experiencing an issue where Excel is preventing you from using macros on shared files.

I have found an article that may help answer your query, you may refer to it: Macros from the internet are blocked by default in Office - Deploy Office | Microsoft Learn

I wish I could address your question, however, the macro question is beyond the scope of the Response Support Community as it is more appropriately posted in Microsoft Learn (English only), where you can click on "Ask a question" and there are experts who can provide a more professional solution.

There is also a link to a forum where you can suggest specific solutions, share your ideas and help solve problems.
