AutoSyncing Issue (Not saving sync preferences)

So I have been using both the browser version and the desktop version of onenote but they both seem to have an issue with syncing properly. I have been losing data every time I open the notebooks back up again the next day so i've resorted to just using the browser version because thru there I can at least override the syncing feature.

However, I keep trying to change the sync options to certain time interval or to just sync automatically whenever changes occur and it'll seem fine. But then only a few hours later i open the prompt back up and it reverts back to a manual sync. When i try to change the sync interval thru options in the file ribbon, it'll allow me to make changes but then when i check back on it, the sync options also reset to what they were before.

How do i just make sure that my files get synced up without losing data? I don't even care about it syncing to the cloud for external use but given the sync button seems to now also be the save button, it's become an issue.

    Hi SebastianCoV,

If you want to make sure your files are synced up, you can try navigating to File > Info > View sync status then click sync all. Because different issues can occur from time to time during syncing, I guess sometimes OneDrive mistakenly thinking your old files to be the newer ones. It's also good practice to back up locally, since if OneDrive is the only space to store your data, when any network or server issue occurs, you lose everything.

And to be clearer of your first question, I would like to ask:

    1. Which version of OneNote are you using on desktop now, OneNote for Windows 10, 2016, or etc.
    2. What do you mean by "open the prompt back up", can you share us some screenshots or more details.

A common method for fixing Office is to use the integrated repair tool, sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't.
