I am having an error with the excel table I put into word. It was working fine and I created it but then all of a sudden it wont let me access it and says

" This program used to create this object is Excel That program is either not installed on your computer or is not responding. To edit this object, install excel or ensure that any dialogue boxes in Excel are closed."

  • Excel is installed
  • No dialogue boxes

-Did a repair

-Restarted computer

-Checked trust setting and anything that could interfere.

-Recreated the excel table same error

Any suggestions?

Hello V_208,Welcome to the Microsoft community. Are you using a personal or business version of Office? Please provide information about the version of Office you are using.About Office: What version of Office am I using? - Microsoft SupportWhat method did you use to enter the Excel table, did you insert the table via Insert>Table>Excel Spreadsheet?I inserted the Excel table in Word in Microsoft 365 in this way and did not have this problem.Could you please send a screenshot of the reported error message?Alternatively you can try resetting Office to see if that resolves it.Press Windows + R, type “regedit” and press Enter.Locate the following keys and rename the Office folder (right-click on it and select Rename, e.g. rename Office to Officeold)HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\OfficeRe-open the Word document to try the effect.Disclaimer: Generally, modifying registry subkeys or work group is intended for advanced users, administrators, and IT Professionals. It can help fix some problems, however, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For further protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.
