With the new update (mid/late May'24) have few issues with pivot tables:

  1. Drilling into details now adds two additional rows on top
  2. Column widths for the entire pivot get reset when drilling into details, even if "Autofit column width on update" is unchecked

The only way is to roll back office update and send feedback to Microsoft to add an option in next version.

I have the same problem too (number 1+2), in particular the second one is really annoying. I use files with hundreds columns properly formatted and this issue destroys the file look!

I have the same issue (second one), when drilling into details (double click) the size of the column get larger. Same thing happens on the column next to it.

Furthermore, hidden columns after the double click are not hidden anymore.

Autofit column width on update is unchecked.

    Thanks for your help

For the first issue, this is new design for povit table details. You may send feedback to Microsoft to add an option to revert the feature back.

For the second issue, could you share some screenshot? I cannot reproduce your issue at my side.
