I have tested my AutoCorrect2007 template to be sure it correctly transfers the entries from Microsoft 365 on Windows 10 to the same program on Windows 11.

Note that the file you can download is a zip file. In Windows Explorer on the Windows 10 PC, first right-click it, click Properties, check the box for "Unblock" if it's there, and click OK. Then right-click the zip file again and choose "Extract All". That creates the file named AutoCorrect.dotm, which you should move to your Templates folder on the Windows 10 PC. Double-click the template and click the Backup button to back up the entries. Save the document that it creates, and copy that document to the Documents folder on the Windows 11 PC.

Also copy the AutoCorrect.dotm file and paste it into the Templates folder on the Windows 11 PC. Double-click it there and click the Restore button. Use the dialog that opens to navigate to and open the backup document. Wait for the restore to finish.

If you're correct about having thousands of AutoCorrect entries, the backup document could be quite large -- it contains a table with a separate row for each entry. Word can become sluggish with very large tables, so be patient.

If you have any difficulties with the template, either reply here with a description or send email to the address listed at https://jay-freedman.info/contact/contact.htm .

Find and download Jay Freedman's AutoCorrect2007 on your old computer.

Run it to Backup your AutoCorrect.

Put it and the file it produced on your new computer and run it there to Restore.
