All but one of the notebooks I use in OneNote sync automatically and can also be forced to sync manually. However, this particular notebook will not sync either way. (Error code: 0xE000002E). Has not updated in 2+ weeks.

    Dear OneNote UserZD,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with syncing your OneNote Notebook. It seems like you have already performed some troubleshooting steps. I will provide you with some suggestions and if you have already performed them, you can let me.

Before we proceed with any further troubleshooting steps, I recommend backing up your OneNote data by following the instructions in the following article: Back up notes - Microsoft Support

Based on your description it seems like this is affecting one particular notebook, I suggest you try the following steps:

    1. Could you please open the affected notebook in OneNote for Web. You can go to www.onenote.com, sign into your account via the Sign In button in the upper right corner, then try to open the notebook in the browser.
    2. Could you please manually copy/paste the content from the OneNote Desktop Application to the online notebook. Ensure that the online notebook has the latest content.
    3. Could you please close this notebook in the OneNote application. After that, please sign out your account from the OneNote application. Restart the OneNote application and sign into your business account again.
    4. In OneNote for Web, please click the Editing button> Open in Desktop App to reopen the notebook in the desktop app. After that, please check if the problem still occurs.

If the issue still persists you can also try the following steps:

    1. Create a new Notebook in your OneDrive for Business via OneNote 365 application.
    2. Go to the affected Notebook> Right-click on the Section> Move/Copy> Select the newly created Notebook> Copy.
    3. Manually sync new Notebook and see whether the section syncs without any issue> If the Section syncs without any issue, then please perform the same step for each section in the Notebooks. You can also have a look at the following article if the above methods are ineffective: Fix issues when you can't sync OneNote - Microsoft Support.

Please feel free to let me know you encounter any issues performing the above steps or if you have any questions.

We look forward to your response. Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,

Ralph Chawatama | Microsoft Community Moderator
