Document Formatting Randomly Changing

For the last week whenever I make a word doc and save it, when I reopen it the formatting is all weird. Sometimes the words get spaced out over multiple pages or the headers disappear and if its multiple pages they all merge as one page. It also always looks like it's in landscape even though the format is set to portrait. Not sure why this is happening but its affecting any document I try to open. Any help is appreciated!

The one thing I can tell from the screen shot is that you are using Draft View. If that isn't intentional use the View menu, the View tab or the View Shortcuts [on the Status Bar] to switch to Print Layout View... When closing a file the view in use will remain in effect when opening new/other documents.

Other than that it's difficult to determine much from the screen shot other than that you may be attempting to cram everything into Text Boxes.

Once you switch to Print Layout View display the non-printing characters [¶] & preovide another screen shot. Be sure to include the present Version Numbers of both Mac Office & the release of macOS you're using.
