Folder Redirection to OneDrive using Migration Manager

We’re planning to use Migration Manager to move about 1200 users redirected desktop and documents to OneDrive and 400 of them use OneNote pointing to the redirected path on the file server. I’ve created a new GPO to remove folder redirection and keep the content on the file server and another GPO for Onedrive KFM. When we tested to few of the pilot users, we saw discrepancy on logon time anywhere between 30sec up to 10 mins on their next login after applying the GPOs in preference order where remove FR was on top of the OneDrive GPO linked to the OU. Any idea? I thought login would be a lot faster because we’re not moving the data back to the user machine.

Also I noticed OneNote doesn’t get migrated using Migration Manager. When the user logged on and open their OneNote all their notebooks were gone.

Another thing I noticed is if I did the first initial sync of a user two weeks ago and then a final sync today, any changes the user had made during that time, like delete files or move file and folders to a different location within desktop or documents, those reappeared after cutting them over to OneDrive on their next logon. Does those changes like delete or file moves doesn’t reflect in OneDrive when syncing with Migration Manager?

    Dear AdminVlabTech,

From your description, there seems to be some issues in the migration process and the group policy configuration. In some situations, the domain controller may also cause some issues.

You can check the thread for more information .

The SharePoint Migration Tool (SPMT) should support migrating your OneNote folders to Microsoft 365.

If you haven't tried that, I suggest you try that to see the result.

About "Also I noticed OneNote doesn’t get migrated using Migration Manager. When the user logged on and open their OneNote all their notebooks were gone.", are the notebook folders saved locally?

Regarding "those reappeared after cutting them over to OneDrive on their next logon.", do you mean that the files deleted from the known folders appear in OneDrive for Business again? If the group policy takes effect, the changes in the known folders should be synced to OneDrive for Business at the same time. Does the issue happen with all users? Could you check whether there are some sync issues with the users' OneDrive sync clients?

Thank you for your effort and time.

    Sincerely
